these 3 words etched in a bracelet that my mom gave me early in my career. 3 words that are etched in my mind…a personal mantra; inspiring me to first imagine. Simply imagine.

{ brittany } senior portraits . st.helena

The fantastic part of my job is photographing such momentous times in one’s live…engagements, weddings, births, birthday celebrations, & senior portraits. I love that senior portraits have taken a giant step away from the stiff, formal, impersonal to the celebration of the beautiful person at the crossroads in their life. Your senior year is such an amazing time…with the world ahead of you; filled with anticipation, excitement & possibly a bit of sorrow- saying goodbye to childhood.

Brittany – you are a beauty & I so enjoyed our session! Best of luck to you.

Oh Baby Mikko…how I love your gigantic open mouth smile, your adorable blue eyes & the way that you make your parents smile right back at you! Thanks for a fun afternoon. I look forward to watching you grow!

Details . New Info . Grand Plans {2009 Weddings}

Happy December my friends! I know…it’s already December 23rd…but since my posts have been slim during the busy holiday season…I’m still sticking with “happy december”.

Wow…a few weeks ago, I was getting a bit nervous. I  was thinking, ” I know we are in a recession, but is ANYONE getting married next year. Well, I take it all back. In the last two weeks I have been inidated with phone calls and emails inquiring about next summer. I’m a bit more than half booked for 2009.  So, if a new ring is shinning on your finger, here is some info for you.

  • DON’T WAIT – I absolutly hate returning emails / calls….”so sorry i am booked… ” I am booking up quickly on those HOT dates…please don’t delay if you think we are a good fit.
  • NEW ALBUMS – I am offering a whole new line of albums next summer…more info to come soon. Just think…elegant yet fresh, modern yet classic, hip but timeless…and bottom line…they are beautiful!
  • MONEY –  All my prices are *somewhat* negotiable. I have a huge adversion to the word “Package”…it is just hard for me to describe what I do…soulful work…as part of a “package”. With that said, I do have different “options” for my couples and I tailor design an estimate for every wedding. Talk to me about your thoughts, budgets etc. Let’s design something that works for both of us.
  • WOW FACTOR – I am eager to take on big, beautiful, intresting, organic, fabulous weddings…I may even throw in a free hour if your wedding is spectacular. Talk to me about this.
  • ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS – If you are getting married next summer and we’ve included an engagment session…don’t wait until the beginning of summer to do your session. Choose early spring when the world wakes up and the light is fresh & clean. Want to upgrade to a different location…talk to me; I have lots of ideas cooking up!

Here’s an image to keep your senses happy!

Thankful for…

cool nights & warm snuggles

friends that seem to always know when to call

people with an open mind & desire to look for the good

couples who let me be a witness to their love

kids who strut their stuff and get crazy when the camera is out

my new favorite artist: Brett Dennen

and on a sad note… My good friend & assistant Jennifer is taking her beautiful family back to her homeland of Australia. It’s been a great ride and I will surely miss her.  I am thankful for her dynamic assistance on weddings,  moral support, never-ending ego boosts & friendship. We are already scheming on getting across the world to work together again. Thank you Jen! Here are some images of her & her beautiful family that I took a while ago. I know my son will miss her daughter as well…his first crush at age 5. 🙂

and a new fav image….

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Taking it all in {Nov. 5, 2008}

Wow…what a day! Despite your political beliefs, you must admit, you can feel the electricity in the air. Positivity & Optomistism are rampant and there is a total absence of the apathy that has plagued our nation. History has been made and now we must all make a personal commitment to keep this hope & turn it into action.

I am so proud of yesterday’s experience of taking my boys to the polls. My eldest 5 year old cast his own version of a ballot while I cast mine. What he doesn’t yet understand is that he was a part of history being made. Thank you nation for restoring my personal patriotism.

Photos to come soon…

It’s been a crazy last few weeks. The ripe wonderful smell of harvest is the air. Busy-ness is pervasive from the fields to the wineries and the wedding season is still going strong.  I’ve had the opportunity to work with some awesome families, couples & businesses and am looking forward to filling you all in on my on-going work.

Thanks to all of you who continue to support Briana Marie Photography…thanks for always dreaming with me…our dream has become a reality! And thanks for my kids who have been oh-so-patient with their busy mom. You boys rock!

Brandon (age 5) finds a ‘heart’ shaped rock. Love you too babe.

Beth & Cynthia . Sonoma . CA

Another wonderful opportunity to share in two people’s love. I was so honored to photograph this wedding…a moment that was more than simply a ‘ceremony’…but for many, a day in history. Congratulations to you both. Thanks to my beau for assisting me!

Clark-Claudon steps up…pairing stellar wine with generous donation.

As some of you know, another fantastic ball I juggle is my role as daughter, event coordinator, photographer & designer for my family’s wine business; Clark-Claudon. It is an ideal fit for me as I have limited knowledge of grape growing (my father’s passion) or the wine business (my mom’s expertise), but have a passion towards the family busines and the philanthropic causes that the family business is so involved in.

My brilliant mom recently had a fantastic idea of a way to support foundations that were truly making a difference. So…as a proud daughter, I had to share. Read on for more info…

And by all means…enjoy the photography AND purchase some vino while you at it.

150 Mile Ride…Because I Can!

Bike PhotosThe 150 mile Bike MS: Waves to Wine Ride 2008 is right around the corner. I know, I know…when am do I have time to train for that? I have no idea, but here’s the situation…

I was inspired by a friend who was recently diagnosed with MS. She is a supremely active person who I have trained with multiple times before with the Leukemia & Lymphoma society…it’s a cruel twist of fate that someone who has devoted their life to finding a cure for cancer has now developed MS. She has asked me to ride and I can’t say no. Why? Because I can… and I am riding with her to help her have the strength to keep moving.

MS stops people from moving. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society exists to make sure it doesn’t.  They simultaneously fund research for a cure while also helping people who currently live with MS lead more fulfilling lives. I believe in the work they do, and I invite you to see for yourself all the good they’ve done for the MS community. More than 400,000 Americans live with MS, and your support can and will make a difference in their lives.

Please help by making a donation – large or small – to our journey to create a world free of MS.

Whatever you can give will help! I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.
